Citizen surveys are valuable research tools for gauging resident perspectives, providing insights, and capturing valuable feedback. As part of our ongoing commitment to better serve and understand our community's needs, the City of Dunedin is conducting a community survey.

Since our first Citizen Survey in 2019, your feedback has been instrumental in shaping the City of Dunedin. We've responded to your top areas of concern, leading to significant projects such as enhancing pedestrian and bicycle safety, increasing Sheriff patrols, and adding flashing or stop lights to key crosswalks. We've also introduced services like the downtown Freebee Loop to ease parking and traffic demands and developed a Multi-Modal Transportation Master Plan and a Resilient Environmental Action Plan. Your voice matters, and we're committed to continuing this collaborative approach.

Other projects underway include:

Skinner Boulevard Complete Streets project, the Highland Aquatic Center, and the addition of Pickleball Courts to Eagle Scout Park. Many of the accomplishments and future projects being addressed are discussed in the 2024 State of the City Video.

The City is committed to providing an opportunity for residents to provide feedback via a Citizen Survey biennially or every other year. The 2024 Citizen Survey provides the City with an opportunity to hear from the residents on their satisfaction with city services and amenities and areas of greatest concern. Staff will utilize information from the City Survey to identify gaps in services and areas of improvement and provide input into the City's Business Plan and budgeting process.

For the 2024 survey, the City has engaged Dr. Stephen Neely of Forward Analytics to provide the survey tool, report and presentation to the Commission. Dr. Neely is well-renowned educator and researcher in the field of public administration, research methods, public policy, and quantitative analytics.

The 2024 survey begins Monday, March 25 and will run for approximately 3 weeks. The project will include a survey assessment period with a draft report expected in early May. The final survey report and findings will be presented to Commission on Tuesday, May 14.

Your participation in the 2024 Citizen Survey is crucial! By sharing your thoughts and experiences, you're contributing to the future of our city. For more information on this project, please visit the Citizen Survey Project Page.
