Dunedin Parks & Recreation offers a variety of indoor and outdoor rental opportunities to accommodate your next event or special occasion. Indoor facilities range from small meeting rooms to large banquet halls and ballrooms. Fees vary according to size of event and facility. We can accommodate various types of events, including:

Parties & Weddings

Book your wedding reception, birthday party, anniversary celebration, bridal shower, baby shower, theater performance, athletic event, corporate luncheon, or other special event with us!

Our staff will assist you in every way possible to prepare for your special occasion. All reservations must be made through the facility staff and be accompanied with a deposit in order to secure your reservation. 

  • All rentals require a signed contract
  • A $250 non-refundable/non-transferable deposit is required to secure your date and room
  • Tables and chairs are included in the fee
  • Access and use of a kitchen is included in the fee
  • Additional $50 fee applies for an alcohol permit
  • Balance is due 30 days prior to event

Community Center: Edinburgh Hall (up to 320+ guests)

The Edinburgh Hall, located at the Dunedin Community Center, is an ideal place for wedding receptions, large banquets, parties, award ceremonies, theater or musical productions, athletic competitions, and large presentations.

Community Center: Elliot Room (up to 60 guests)

The Elliot Room, which is situated in the Dunedin Community Center, is an ideal place for small gatherings and events like birthday parties, anniversary celebrations, baby or bridal showers, business meetings, seminars, and luncheons. The room features large windows that overlooking the park and pond, access to a spacious outdoor patio, hardwood flooring ideal for dancing and creating a great ambiance, and enough counter space to accommodate guests' needs, complete with a small sink.

Hale Center: Ballroom (up to 250 guests)

This beautifully designed room is situated in the Hale Activity Center, and it is an ideal venue for hosting events such as wedding receptions, banquets, and luncheons. Covering an area of 4,200 square feet, the room is adorned with elegant chandeliers and has adjustable lighting options. In addition, the room boasts a fully equipped professional kitchen with ample counter space, an oven, refrigerators, a freezer, sinks, and an ice machine, making it a perfect choice for any culinary requirements.

A full kitchen is attached to the room, providing you and your guests with comfortable space.

MLK Center: Gymnasium (up to 900+ guests)

The gymnasium located at the MLK, Jr. Recreation Center can be rented for athletic or non-athletic events including tournaments and team practice (full or half gym), as well as luncheons, banquets, wedding receptions, baby and bridal showers, or other special occasions. Food and drinks are allowed within the gymnasium, as long as the floor coverings are in place. Round or rectangular tables are available. The round tables can seat 8-9 people, while the rectangular tables seat 6.

Picnic and Park Pavilions

Our pavilions provide the perfect outdoor setting for hosting a family reunion, birthday party, baby shower, or other get-togethers.

  • Pavilion rentals are available in 4-hour time blocks: 9:00 am-1:00 pm or 2-6:00 pm.
  • Certain locations offer grills, electric, and water. 
  • If you intend to bring bounce houses or moonwalks, you will need to provide proof of liability insurance that names the City of Dunedin as additionally insured. Proof of liability insurance must be presented at the time of reservation.
  • Commercial activities on any public lands belonging to the City are prohibited, except for any commercial activities performed under a franchise or license agreement granted by the City.
  • Please note that renting a pavilion does not guarantee exclusive use of the park or its amenities.
  • Locations and Fees:

$50 per pavilion, per time block
$60 for Gazebo at Edgewater Park
Electric is available at most locations upon request for an additional $25.

Picnic Pavilions at Highlander Park (Pool & Sprayground)

The two pavilions located at Highlander Park, 1937 Ed Eckert Drive (near Highlander Pool and the Kiwanis Sprayground) are available in 2-hour time blocks: 9-11:00 am, 11:30 am-1:30 pm, and 2-4:00 pm. Parties and groups are welcome to use the Kiwanis Sprayground but must rent a pavilion. Pavilion rentals do not provide you with exclusive use of the park or its amenities.

Small Pavilion (up to 20 people):

  • $50 Resident; $60 Non-Resident (per time block)
  • Rental includes 20 wristbands for admission to the Sprayground

Large Pavilion (up to 30 people):

  • $60 Resident; $70 Non-Resident (per time block)
  • Rental includes 20 wristbands for admission to the Sprayground

For more than 30 people, both pavilions must be rented.
Electric is available upon request for an additional $25.

Reservation Assistance

Reservation assistance is available in person at the Dunedin Community Center, 1920 Pinehurst Road. The Community Center is open Monday-Thursday: 6:00 am - 9:00 pm; Friday: 6:00 am - 6:00 pm, Saturday: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm, and closed on Sundays.
