The City of Dunedin brings a new level of transparency and community engagement to local governance through our “Community Engagement Platform.” This new digital platform allows the City to communicate with its residents, stakeholders, businesses, and community members. We’ve transformed the traditional model of disseminating information to compile all necessary project information into one easy-to-navigate page that includes key details, budget information, timelines, videos, documents, surveys and more! Let’s look at how we’re revolutionizing and opening the doors to our digital City Hall.   

Key Features  

  • Project Highlights: Gone are the days of reading Commission minutes, paragraphs of text that are hard to find on the website, and other ways we’ve presented project information in the past. These new project pages highlight all the important City project details in an easy-to-read format. We work with our City staff subject experts and leadership to help us identify the most essential information about the project. We cater to both the casual observer and the informed enthusiast to promote a greater understanding of each project’s goals and outcomes.  

  • Timelines: Project timelines can be tricky, with often changing circumstances, shifting weather, and other uncontrollable variables. Now, each project has a dedicated timeline to keep you informed on when the project began, how much public engagement has taken place or is planned, and future phases. Below the project timeline are important dates, typically public meetings, for you to attend and have your voice heard.  

  • Budget Information: Another level of transparency is including the project’s budget. Learn how much money is allocated, what are the City funding sources and the project’s actual costs. 

  • Videos: City Commission meetings are easily accessible and embedded on the project page so you can access City staff’s presentations, Commission comments and questions, and public comments made during the meetings.  

  • Documents: All project-related documents, from reports, memos, and presentations, are available for public review. This accessibility enables residents and stakeholders to stay well-informed and access additional information and a deeper understanding of the project.

The most valuable information is always displayed reducing calls and emails you might have to make to find out more about our projects. And, hopefully to avoid questions on unofficial Dunedin Facebook groups like” Who knows what’s happening with...?”
