The City’s online presence is often the first impression for visitors, residents, and businesses. In March 2022, recognizing the importance of a secure and modern hub, the City of Dunedin embarked on an exciting journey to rebuild our website. We’ve used analytics, surveys, and community engagement to create a community oriented site that would be easy to navigate and accessible to everyone.
A Fresh Look and Feel
The first thing you'll notice when visiting our new website is its fresh and modern design. Incorporating high quality pictures and interesting graphics that represent Dunedin and the services we provide. We wanted to create a “Digital City Hall” that is not only informative but shows off the beauty of our community.
The layout of the website changed as well, no longer are we organized by City Department. Instead, we modified our navigation to be based off of services. If you’re looking for activities and recreation including public art, the Library, or our many parks and recreation centers they are all located in one area. Integral City services like trash, recycling, water, and permitting are in another section of the website. And finally, everything about how your government functions, Commission meetings and agendas, and how you can be involved is in the third section.
Accessible Information & A Wealth of Resources
One of our primary goals with the new website was to provide easy access to information for the entire community. Why not be able to find it online! Being able to easily and efficiently find information about essential services like what you can recycle or how to locate utility lines allows you to get back to your life and projects faster.
A new feature that we’ve incorporated into this site is the “Service Requests” page, where you can find many of the services the City offers. These services that were hard to find on our old site are now located in one centrally located area for everyone to find and utilize.
We’ve also combined our events and government calendar into one experience so you know everything that is happening in and around Dunedin. Don’t want to see the whole calendar? You can filter based on what you’re looking for.
And the most important piece of our new website, the search bar. It works! If you can’t seem to find something on the navigation, use the search bar to find information and content that may be on a page in the website.
Your Feedback Matters
As we launch our new website, we encourage your feedback and suggestions. Take a look around, try to find information you’ve needed in the past. Together we can continue to improve our site and ensure our digital City Hall meets our City’s needs. You can reach out to us at the bottom of any page of the website where it says “Was this page helpful?” or on the top by filling out our website navigation survey.
