The Hale Senior Activity Center offers recreational programs and classes specifically designed for older adults, ages 50 & over. It features an Internet hub, fitness room, game room and craft shop.

Fitness Room

Fitness Room

The Hale Activity Center features a Fitness Room with cardio and exercise equipment. It includes two treadmills, two recumbent bikes, a NuStep cardio machine, a max trainer M5, a Batca Omega 2 fitness system with leg press and adjustable bench, dumbbells and stretch bands for resistance training.

Free to use with a Rec Card or $1 without a card (per day)

Free Orientation

Join Bobby Gallagher, our Fitness Specialist, as he demonstrates how to safely use the multi-station strength equipment, free weights and cardiovascular fitness machines.

  • 2nd & 4th Tuesday of every month at 10:30 am
  • 1st & 3rd Thursday of every month at 3:30 pm

Craft Shop

Did you know the Hale Senior Activity Center also features a Craft Shop? Items for sale include locally hand-made jewelry, purses, greeting cards, pop culture items, household knick-knacks, and many other creations which make great gifts for the holidays.

Room Rentals & Banquet Hall

The Hale Senior Activity Center provides two rental rooms that are ideal for wedding receptions, birthday parties, baby & bridal showers, corporate luncheons, and other special occasions.

The Ballroom is an elegant room perfecting for a wedding reception, banquet or luncheon. It's 4,200 square foot space is complete with chandeliers and dimmable lights. It features a full size professional kitchen and seats 250 guests in banquet style or 300 guests in theater style. 

The Sunshine Room provides an intimate setting with wood flooring perfect for a small reception, baby or bridal shower, anniversary or birthday party, and other small special occasions. It can accommodate up to 100 guests and features a full kitchen. 

The Classroom is a great room for small meetings and seminars. It's equipped with tables, chairs, and a large dry-erase board for visual instruction. It can comfortably accommodate up to 25 people seated at tables.

Committee On Aging

The City of Dunedin Committee On Aging acts in an advisory capacity to the City Commission regarding the well-being of the current senior adult population.

Senior Hall of Fame

Dunedin's Senior Hall of Fame honors and celebrates older Dunedin residents who have made significant contributions to our community. Each year, the City of Dunedin Committee on Aging inducts new members into the Senior Hall of Fame. 

Nominations for the 2024 Senior Hall of Fame are now open and will be accepted until April 5, 2024. Nominees for the Senior Hall of Fame must meet the following guidelines:

  • Be 75 years of age or older
  • Have at some time resided in Dunedin for 10 years or more
  • Have demonstrated the art of aging successfully
  • Have donated time and abilities to activities serving the community
  • Both individual men and women nominees are welcomed, as are couples.

If you wish to nominate someone in the Dunedin community, please download a printable form(PDF, 683KB) to submit by mail or in person, or complete the fillable form(PDF, 821KB) to submit via email. Nominees are selected by the Dunedin Committee on Aging and will be notified in April. The Senior Hall of Fame Awards Banquet is Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at the Hale Senior Activity Center.
