The Planning & Development Department, with the Engineering and Economic Development Departments, have been studying the major corridors of the City.  The purpose of these studies is to evaluate the existing conditions to identify needed changes to improve deficiencies and increase the vitality and sense of place for the neighborhoods.

Douglas Avenue Corridor Study - Wilson Miller & Swan Development Advisors, 2009

In March 2012, a report was compiled of the main issues, accomplishments to date, and future goals of the Southside Dougas neighborhood.  This report details the formation of the South Douglas Citizens Advisory Group and the partnership with the City to make significant improvements in their neighborhood.  Below are links to the report and its appendices.

STATE ROUTE 580

SR 580 Corridor Workshop Study 2012 - S.R. 580 has been evaluated by Staff, and preliminary findings were presented at a City Commission Workshop in June, 2012.  In the Fall Semester 2017, students from the University of South Florida's Community Sustainability Partnership Program (CSPP), will be working on a project to study the State Road 580 Corridor.
