2018 Teen Leadership Program Re-Cap
The Dunedin Parks & Recreation Department had 56 Teen Leaders volunteer over 13,000 hours this summer in our Teen Leadership Program. Teen Leaders spent their fun filled summer being mentors to campers and making sure everyday was filled with memories!

Dunedin Parks & Recreation is seeking responsible teen volunteers to work during our 2019 summer camp programs with adult mentors and gain a valuable experience. The goals of the Teen Leadership Program are to:

  • Prepare teens in our community for future leadership roles
  • Create a sense of motivation
  • Teach invaluable skills and grow as responsible young adults
  • Take on future roles within Parks & Recreation Departments

Teens will gain experience in:

  • Team Building & Leadership Training
  • Communication Skills
  • Preparing for the work force
  • Gain the rewards of volunteering in your community
  • Gain individualized training and hands-on experience
  • Earn community service hours for scholarships
  • How to live a healthy Lifestyle

Who Should Apply? 

  • Teens who are age 13 (as of January 1, 2019) - 16 years (as of August 15, 2019)
  • Teens that can commit to training sessions and 7 weeks of summer
  • Teens with a positive attitude who can be a role model
Requirements and Application Process
2019 enrollment applications will be available mid February and can be submitted to the Dunedin Community Center, 1920 Pinehurst Road, Dunedin. Selected teens must provide a copy of their birth certificate and pay a $35 material fee.
