April Youth Department Schedule of events

All Storytime are held in the Storytime Room!

Baby & Me: Mondays @ 10 AM. Birth to 18 months.
A fun introduction to stories, rhymes, and songs.

Music Mash: Mondays @ 3:30 PM. Ages 5 & under.
Join us for a mix of music and movement using expressive props.

Toddler Times: Wednesdays @ 10:30 AM. 18-36 months.
Utilizing early literacy skills, toddlers will experience the exciting world of reading with books, songs, finger plays, and a short literature based video.

Preschool Story Times: Thursdays @ 10:30 AM.Ages 3-5 years.
Join us for a fun time as we enjoy thematic books, songs, finger plays, literature based videos and crafts. Each week we’ll focus on early literacy skills important to reading development.

Saturday Stories: April 21@ 11 AM. Open to youth and families.
Enjoy stories, songs, and craft about Earth Day! In the Reading Garden today!

Bring a mat and enjoy yoga with Ms. Susan.

Make your own work of art!

Table Art Sunday: April 15thfrom 10 AM to 4:30 PM. Youth Department. All ages.
Decorate our table tops in the Youth Department. The most artistic table art will be displayed during the week in the Youth Department!

Minecraft & More: Wednesday, April 18th@ 4 PM.Ages 5-12.
Storytime Room.
Play Minecraft and more. Learn tricks and cheats from our volunteers.

Preschool Movies: Tuesday, April 24th@ 10:30 AM.
Ages 5 & under. Storytime Room.
Watch literature based movies and have popcorn!

Teen Carte Blanche:Wed., April 25thfrom 4:00 - 5:30 PM.
Ages 12 – 18. Storytime Room.
Teens have freedom to create arts and crafts as one wishes or thinks best.

Homework Help: Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3 – 5 PM.
Open to elementary & middle school youth. Youth Department.
Our teen volunteers will help you with your homework.
Last spring semester session is April 27th.

Computer Tutors: Dates and times vary.
Call to schedule an appointment.
Teen volunteers help with basic computer needs.Bring your own device or use ours.

Enjoy crazy science experiments and entertaining new ideas with Mad Science.

We’ll make cool crafts out of old books!

*Teen Candle Program:Monday, April 23rd@ 6 PM. Ages 12 – 18. Community Rooms.
Make an awesome candle. You can use it as a gift or keep it for yourself. Materials provided.

*Dunedin Youth Volunteer Recruitment: Monday, April 30th@ 6 PM.
High School Age. Community Rooms.
The Dunedin Youth Volunteers has openings for high school teen volunteers. Dunedin Youth Volunteers must be high school age (14 – 18) and working toward hours for school, scholarships or other organizations. The recruitment meeting is mandatory for all potential Dunedin Youth Volunteers.Space is limited.

2018 Children’s Book Week
April 30th—May 5th

Create a diorama of your favorite story and we’ll display it in the Youth Department during Children’s Book Week! Bring your diorama (use a shoe box and make a scene from your favorite book) to the Youth Department by Saturday, April 28th. Prizes include books and candy! Show us your favorite books! Open to all kids!
