As an advocate for entrepreneurism, the City of Dunedin endeavors to create a network of support for small business launch and strategic growth.  In a concerted effort to diversify an economic core that to date had been predominantly retail and service oriented (76%), City officials signed an Agreement with the Florida Business Incubator in October 2016 to provide Spark Tank Think Tanks in the City of Dunedin.

Florida Business Incubator, a Northern Pinellas County educational 501c3 non-profit, fosters entrepreneurship from startup through strategic growth—providing informative programming, professional connections and vital resources in a collaborative environment.  Serving as the “Gateway to Business Success” for Dunedin’s small business owners, the Incubator interacts with Chambers of Commerce, Libraries, and municipalities to promote the entrepreneurial ecosystem across Tampa Bay—distinguishing Dunedin as a highly accommodating location for start-ups and small businesses.

Championing all industries, the Incubator encourages entrepreneurs to interactively 'brain bounce' new ideas, overcome stumbling blocks and make synergistic connections—ultimately innovating, implementing and intensifying their business.  Dunedin Incubator participants have experienced successful launches along with strategic growth of small businesses; significantly strengthening the City’s economic foundation and expanding the workforce.
