The City of Dunedin is now using the CodeRED Emergency Notification System. CodeRED is an ultra high-speed telephone communication service for emergency notifications and the distribution of information considered to be important to our citizens.
The CodeRED system provides City of Dunedin officials the ability to quickly deliver messages to targeted areas or to the entire city. In the advent of an evacuation, contaminated water, hazardous chemical spill, or any other event deemed critical, CodeRED delivers a pre-recorded message describing the situation to a resident or business,or by leaving a message on an answering machine in the affected area. These notifications could possibly include instructions requiring immediate action on the part of the recipient.
While a calling database was created by extracting information from the City's computerized files and other public record sources, please don't assume your information was included. All businesses should register, as well as all individuals who have unlisted phone numbers, those who have changed their phone number or address within the past year, and those who use a cellular phone or VoIP phone as their primary number.
