EOC and Fire Training FacilityThe City of Dunedin Commission, at their October 15, 2019 Work Session, approved the bid for Bandes Construction Company, Inc. to begin construction of the 5620 sq. ft. facility that will be located at 2835 Belcher Rd, just north of the current fire station 62.  The building will be used a majority of the time as a fire/EMS training facility for area firefighters and medical personnel.  It features two classrooms and two breakout rooms for meetings and instruction.  Other City departments will also be utilizing the building for meetings and classes.

During major emergency incidents (hurricanes, tropical storms, flooding, tornadoes…), the EOC will house critical City staff that will manage the City functions.  The facility will be self-sufficient for seven days and will have photovoltaic (solar) system on the roof.  The structure is to be constructed to withstand a Cat 5 storm.  There will also be two electric vehicle charging stations in the parking area.

The facility is expected to take close to one year to be constructed and operational.
