New Playground Opens at Edgewater Park

Post Date:06/29/2018 4:30 PM

Dunedin Parks & Recreation opens its newest playground at Edgewater Parklocated at 51 Main Street, Dunedin, just west of Downtown Dunedin and near the Marina.

The playground incorporates a nautical theme of the Marina and being on the water. The equipment is decked out in bright blue and teal colors of the ocean and splashed with sea life creatures swimming and floating around. It has seperate play areas for children 2-5 and 5-12, and features slides, climbers, a rope bridge and merry-go-round spinner. A new inclusive area has a "dock" ramp that leads you to the "Sway Fun" boat glider that is accessible to all ages and abilities including wheelchairs. The soft, sand-color surface helps cushion your landing and puts an extra bounce in your step. Benches are also installed around the playground, giving parents a comfortable place to rest and watch their children play.

In additon to the new playground, Edgewater Park also features two picnic pavilions with tables, grills and electric - perfect for birthday parties, baby showers, family reunions and company picnics. Dunedin Marina is located across the parking lot where you can enjoy the new fishing pier or catch a charter boat for sailing, fishing, dolphin watching or a sunset cruise. Visitors can also enjoy lunch or dinner with outdoor seating and fresh menu items at Old Bay Cafe or Bon Appetit Waterfront Restaurant.

We hope you "Get Out & Play!" and enjoy the new playground and amenities of Edgewater Park. For more information, contact Dunedin Parks & Recreation at (727) 812-4530.
