Wanted! Volunteer Butterfly Garden Manager

In 2010, the Friends of the Hammock established the Butterfly Garden located in Hammock Park, featuring a flowering display of butterfly favorites of 11 beds with 225 plants in 40 varieties. We are looking for a group, or an individual, with expertise in gardening and horticulture who is willing to assume the management of the garden, providing a valuable habitat for butterfly populations.

Responsibilities would include: maintaining plant beds and flower displays, determining what plants to use for proper design and habitat management, purchasing plants and materials, and planning and coordinating planting projects and volunteers. Funding for all purchases would be provided by the Friends of the Hammock, with approval. Flexible schedule. Time requirements vary throughout the year, but average approximately 10 hours per month. This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Friends of the Hammock, in partnership with Dunedin Parks & Recreation.

If interested, please email a letter of interest, including your knowledge and experience, to Bob Davison at bdavison999@yahoo.com.
