Tree Permit

Many trees in the City of Dunedin cannot be removed, and Grand trees cannot be pruned without first submitting a Tree Permit Application. Step by step instructions are provided below:

Step 1.Complete the Application

Step 2.Submit the Application

  • By Mail or In Person: City of Dunedin Permitting Department, 737 Louden Avenue, Dunedin FL 34698.
  • A $25 check (made payable to the City of Dunedin) must be summitted with the application.
  • Applications will be processed by the City's Permitting Department and forwarded to the City Arborist for final review.
  • A notice of approval or denial will be sent to you via email or standard mail.

Step 3.Contractor Requirements

  • All tree removal applications must have the contractor section completed.
  • The contractor chosen must be registered with the City of Dunedin's Permitting Department annually in order to perform any type of arboricultural work within Dunedin. 
  • Contractor registration information and requirements are handled solely by Dunedin's Permitting Division.

Step 4.Permit Status

Questions about permit status and processing shall be directed to the City's Permitting Department at Permits@DunedinFL.net or call 727-298-3210.

Step 5.Approval or Denial

Questions about the approval or denial of a Tree Removal Application shall be directed to the City Arborist at CityArborist@DunedinFL.net.
