Hammock Park Adoption Program
The "Friends of the Hammock" organization is offering training programs to help preserve the park. Volunteers will be assigned a zone of the park to help monitor, maintain and protect the park from invasive plants. Once you've completed a training session, you will work on your own schedule as time allows. 

Training Session - Saturday, July , 15- 9:00 am
  • Overview: Invasive removal - Where we've been, Where we are, and Where we're going
  • Training: Tools & Safety of the off-trail volunteer
  • Targets: Learn to immediately identify 5 major invasive plants targeted for removal
  • Zone Out: Walk the trail and select a Zone for adoption
Participants should bring water, garden gloves, wear long pants, closed toed shoes and mosquito repellent (Deet recommended).
Please meet at Picnic Shelter #1 (near restrooms and playground). Hammock Park is located at 1900 San Mateo Drive, Dunedin

In addition, the State of Florida is looking for citizen volunteers who are willing to go through an Air Potato Patrol training program and report data to the researchers on what is happening to the air potato vine and beetle. The project is open to anyone and is easy to become involved with. Visit for more information or click here to view a summary of the training modules.
