EAGLE SCOUT PARK PRECAST CONCRETE RESTROOM

Project Status:
Project site construction work will be completed by City staff in advance of delivery of the pre-fabricated restroom. Fabricating is underway with a 4-6 week delivery time frame.

INSPECTION AND CLEANING OF CONCRETE GROUND WATER STORAGE TANKS

Project Status:
Bids to inspect the existing potable water and reclaim water ground storage tanks were received June 2, 2014. These tanks are required by FDEP rules to be inspected internally and externally every five years. City staff is preparing a contract award recommendation for Commission consideration on June 19th.

JESSICA COURT BANK STABILIZATION

Project Status:
Project is out to bid with a bid opening date of July 15, 2014. The project is to stabilize 176 linear feet of the northern bank slope of Channel C-E5 to prevent future erosion and reduce impacts to private property. A RENO rock mattress will be constructed to replace the current compacted earth slope. The ditch cross-section will not change significantly. A temporary rock check dam will be in place during construction.

LYNDHURST STREET STREETSCAPE

Project Status:
The streetscape is complete. Additional work at the Milwaukee intersection is underway, with completion expected within two weeks.

NORTH DOUGLAS STREETSCAPE

Project Status:
New driveways, curb and sidewalk boarders are completed on the west side of Douglas Avenue. The lane closure will be switched to the west side in the middle of June to allow the contractor area to work on the east side of the road. Sidewalk pavers will be installed in August and the road is expected to be resurfaced in September.

PRESIDENT STREET DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS

Project Status:
Project construction continues on to the west of Douglas. The outfall structure and stormwater treatment structure have been completed. Construction of new stormwater pipe is progressing north on Broadway to President St., and will then turn east on President St. to the Pinellas Trail. A closure of Douglas Ave. to install pipe across the road at Lyndhurst is scheduled to begin July 7th and is expected to last about three weeks.

PRODUCTION WELL REHABILITATION

Project Status:
Civil/Mechanical plans and specs for reconstructing well numbers 2 and 50, to install a pump and controls at the new well number 95, and to perform other specialty maintenance at wells 5 and 85 are complete. The FDEP permits have been issued for Well #95 and Well #50. Electrical/instrumentation plans and specifications are approximately 95% complete and will be incorporated into the bid documents when received from the Consultant.

SAN CHRISTOPHER DRIVE RECONSTRUCTION

Project Status:
Bids were received on June 3, 2014 with Augustine Construction being the low bidder. A recommendation of award is being considered by the City Commission at the June 19, 2014 meeting.

SCOTSDALE AREA FORCE MAIN IMPROVEMENTS

Project Status:
Pipe was delivered to the project the week of June 2nd and the Contractor is mobilizing to the site the Week of June 9th. Construction is expected to begin June 16th. The force main pipe will be installed along the north side of Beltrees (between Keene Rd and Tarridon Ct.) using horizontal directional drill methods of construction. A new manhole will also be constructed at the west end of the project, beside a major drainage channel.

STREET RESURFACING – 2014

Project Status:
Bids were received on June 11, 2014 with Gator Grading & Paving being the low bidder. Staffing is currently being prepared to take the recommendation of award to the City Commission.

WATER AND WASTEWATER MASTER PLAN

Project Status:
A report of existing treatment plant conditions and performance has been made. King Engineering presented to staff in meetings held the weeks of May 26th and June 2nd their recommendations describing work sequence necessary at each of the treatment plants including budget costs, draft exhibits, and time frames for the work. A written report of these findings is expected to be available by the end of June.

WATER PLANT PRESSURE FILTER BLOWER UPGRADE

Project Status:
The new blower motors have been installed and are operating to produce more airflow during the filter backwashing. Punch-list items are being completed to close-out the project.
