Advisory Committee

The Dunedin Library Advisory Committee advises the Library Director with regard to policies, programs, and new services for the Library. The Committee meets monthly. Members are appointed by the City Commissioners and serve a three-year term.

Friends of the Library

The Dunedin Friends of the Library is a vibrant and hard working organization which provides funding and support to the staff and programs of the Library. This is a 501( c )3 organization and this group has provided numerous enhancements and much hard work that has made a great difference in the Library.
Please join us in supporting our fine community Library by applying for a membership. Applications may be picked up at the Reference Desk and include the following types:

Gifts and Donations

The Dunedin Public Library welcomes and encourages gifts and donations of useful materials for the Library. The Library adds materials to the collection in accordance with its Gift Book Selection Policy.

Library Foundation

The Dunedin Public Library Foundation, Inc. was formed in 1992 as an agency for the collection of tax deductible contributions for the enhancement of the Dunedin Public Library. It exists to augment City funding so that the Library's collection will be first class and the facilities, equipment and the services provided will be top of the line. With such supplemental funding the Library will be in a position to do an outstanding job of meeting community needs in the years ahead.

Your donation will benefit Dunedin and its residents.

Contributions may be made in various forms:

  • Individual or Corporate Cash Gifts
  • Corporate Matching Grants
  • Appreciated Securities
  • Real Estate
  • Bequests Under Wills or Living Trusts
  • Charitable Gift Annuities
  • Charitable Trusts

Contributions are tax deductible. For some types of donations consultation with your attorney or financial advisor is recommended for the tax benefit estimate.

Invest in the Future of Our Library and Community

Cumulative lifetime donations are credited in determining donor categories on the Foundation's plaque in the Dunedin Public Library.

Giving through your will or living trust can be convenient way to leave a philanthropic legacy.

Gifts to the Foundation will enrich the educational, cultural and information base of the community be creating a great Library.

Donation Given as Memorials or Tributes

Your contribution to the Foundation can give pleasure to others while helping to benefit the Library.

It can be given as a memorial... or, it can be given as a tribute to a friend as an expression of honor and esteem for an accomplishment or in celebration of a happy occasion.

A suitable announcement of your gift will be sent to the person(s) that you designate informing them of your support of the Library Foundation. Your gift amount will not be disclosed.

You will receive a receipt and an acknowledgement of your tax deductible donation.

Volunteers

The Dunedin Public Library offers a wonderful opportunity for volunteer service in the community. Our volunteers assist in many areas of the Library and are a vital part in making the Library what it is today.
