With passage of Ordinance 05-25, the City began a 5-year plan for drainage improvements. These projects are among those identified in an update of the City's Master Drainage Plan and from the findings of the Curlew Creek Task Force as reported in the Curlew Creek Study. Your $6.00 Stormwater Utility Fee is funding these projects in partnership with the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD). The projects are as follows:

Baywood Drive North Water Quality Filter System $150,000 *PROJECT COMPLETE (2006)

Curlew Creek Channel "A" Off-line Detention System $1,314,000 *PROJECT COMPLETE (2006-2007)

Hammock Park Restoration/Lake Sperry
Outfall $1,084,000 *PROJECT COMPLETE (2006-2007)

San Christopher Drive/Bass Blvd. Drainage Improvements $284,000 *PROJECT COMPLETE (2008)

Dunedin Isles Country Club (*BIDS SPRING 2010) Subdivision Drainage Improvements $2,032,000 (2009-2010)

TOTAL IMPROVEMENT COST =$4,864,000


Copies of the Master Drainage Plan and Curlew Creek Study are available for review in the Engineering Section of Public Works. Information on the status of each project, or to review design and construction drawings as they are developed for each, can be obtained from the Engineering Section of Public Works as well.
