What the MLK Jr. Center Has to Offer...

The Center offerd various programs for citizens young and old from Men's Basketball leagues to children's computer classes. The outside grounds feature a state of the art playground, lighted basketball courts and a covered picnic area with tables. The Center has added a 10,000 sq. ft. skate park in 2007. The Center is available for rentals and can accommodate just about any occasion, from childrens birthday parties to formal banquets. Ask about our birthday party packages!

Facility Features Include:

PLAYGROUND
The playground at the MLK Recreation Center has a state of the art playground featuring a pair of swings that can accommodate up to four kids at once. We also have a large space net for climbing fun,as well as a specially made climbing rock. Our lighted basketball courts allow a great game of basketball after dark. Any playground couldn't be complete without a covered picnic area that is great for hosting birthday parties or for just relaxing while watching your children have the time of their lives on our playground.

GYMNASIUM
We take pride in our indoor regulation size hardwood basketball court. The gym features six hoops that can be retracted when needed, four of which can be lowered to a super low height of 7'6" for those future NBA players. We can enjoy running two activities at once with our retractable dividing curtian allowing for twice the fun. Our gym also provides bleachers for spectators to watch activies like our youth or men's basketball leagues.

TEEN ROOM
A pool table and ping pong table are very prominent fixtures in this room. We also provide patrons with a monster flat screen tv that dwarfs our 32" TV for our X-box. You can relax on our couch or in our chairs while watching your favorite television show with friends. Golden Tee is always free here at our center. If you have the urge to dance, our Dance Dance Revolution will give you the satisifaction you're looking for. Our new addition to the teen room is a pinball machine, and it is begging to be played.

COMPUTER LAB
Progess energy is to thank you for our computer lab featuring 13 computers. The lab is home to year-round computer classes, and with its 24/7 access to the world wide web, youth and adults alike are able to surf the web.
