Code Red---Emergency Notification When Seconds Count

The City of Dunedin has recently upgraded its emergency
notification system. The City is now using the CodeRED Emergency
Notification System. CodeRED is an ultra high-speed telephone
communication service for emergency notifications and the
distribution of information considered to be important to our
citizens.
The CodeRED system provides City of Dunedin officials the
ability to quickly deliver messages to targeted areas or to the
entire city. In the advent of an evacuation, contaminated water,
hazardous chemical spill, or any other event deemed critical,
CodeRED delivers a pre-recorded message describing the situation to
a resident or business,or by leaving a message on an answering
machine in the affected area. These notifications could possibly
include instructions requiring immediate action on the part of the
recipient.
While a calling database was created by extracting
information from the City's computerized files and other
public record sources, please don't assume your information was
included. All businesses should register, as well as all
individuals who have unlisted phone numbers, those who have changed
their phone number or address within the past year, and those who
use a cellular phone or VoIP phone as their primary number.
If you reside or own property within the incorporated limits
of the City of Dunedin and would like to receive CodeRED emergency
messages, you may sign up by clicking the below link. Those
without Internet access may call (727) 298-3102 Monday through
Friday, 8AM-4:30PM to supply their information over the
phone.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE USE YOUR PHYSICAL CITY OF DUNEDIN ADDRESS.
DO NOT USE POST OFFICE OR OUT OF TOWN ADDRESSES.
Your privacy is important to us. We will only use this
information for community notifications.
